From our farm to your table

Offering high quality, grass-fed beef sold per pound. All meat is sold per amount of cow (1/4, 1/2, and whole). All orders have a variety of cuts to choose from, and our experienced butcher will help you select the perfect cuts for your needs. All cuts are individually packaged and frozen fresh to ensure maximum flavor and tenderness. Enjoy the succulent flavor of our grass-fed beef today

General

$5.25/lb. hanging weight + butchering fee paid to butcher

 

What is Hanging Weight?

Hanging weight is the weight of the animal minus the hide, head, lower limbs, and guts.  Regulations regarding getting a cow custom butchered are complicated (thanks USDA), hence why you must pay Parsons Land and Cattle and Baringer Brothers Meats separately. 

 

What are the butchering costs?

We have an established relationship with Baringer Brothers Meats.

  • Custom butchering and packaging fees determined by Baringer Brothers Meats (prices as of 01/01/23)

    • 65¢ per lb. cut and wrap with freezer paper

    • 88¢ per lb. cut and vacuum seal

    • $80 processing fee per animal

      • Quarter pays $20, Half pays $40, Whole pays $80 *Note this is included in the below estimates

  • There is a minimal additional fee for further processed cuts such as chip steak or patties. The Baringer Brothers Meats will call you and discuss what exact cuts you would like. They have a “normal” they do, just discuss with them what you normally cook, and they should be able to advise you from there. We use chip steak for cheesesteaks and tend to get more beef cubes; these requests are a slight extra cost.

 

How much does it cost in total?

NOTE: Every animal is different! Estimated hanging weight of 500 to 600-pounds, equals a half cow between 250-300 pounds.

 

Pricing for 1/4 Cow

  • Average quarter weight = 125-150 pounds

  • With current pricing that means:

    • Paid to Parsons Land and Cattle -- $5.25 x 125-150 lbs. = $656.25 - $787.50

    • Paid to Baringer Brothers Meat -- 65¢ cutting/wrapping x 150 lbs. = $97.50 + $20 processing fee = $117.50

Estimated total cost of $773.75 - $905 for a quarter cow

 

Pricing for 1/2 Cow

  • Average half weight of 250-300 lbs.

  • With current pricing that means:

    • Paid to Parsons Land and Cattle -- $5.25 x 250-300 lbs. = $1,312.50 – $1575.00

    • Paid to Baringer Brothers Meat -- 65¢ cutting/wrapping x 300 lbs. = $195.00 + $40 processing fee = $235.00

Estimated total cost of $1,547.50- $1,810.00 for half a cow

Pricing for a Whole Cow

  • Average half weight of 500-600 lbs.

  • With current pricing that means:

    • Paid to Parsons Land and Cattle -- $5.25 x 500-600 lbs. = $2,625.00 – $3,150.00

    • Paid to Baringer Brothers Meat -- 65¢ cutting/wrapping x 600 lbs. = $390.00 + $80 processing fee = $470.00

Estimated total cost of $3,095.00 - $3,620.00 for a cow
